The Road
UneasyHoly fuck.
That was the most blindingly depressing film I have ever seen in my entire life. Oh my god. Don't get be wrong, it was really well done: the derection was spot on, the post apocalyptic world was constructed brilliantly and the sense of tension throughout was phenominal, but - Jesus Christ, it's so dreary, which is exactly what you want in this kind of film. I loved it, but my eyes are fucking bleeding. If you have a friend who is already feeling a bit depressed, do not take them to see this film; they will actually go home and kill themselves.
Props go to this film for coming out at the same time as Tim Burton's latest desu romp, in order to show that his films are about as dark as the fucking sun. Does the mad hatter keep families in a basement in order to bring one person up ever day so they can cut them up an eat them? No, no he doesn't. This film was directed by Jeffrey Dahmer. The most incredible thing is, you don't see any gory details, only noises and clues to past events, so you have to imagine it.
Do not make assumptions from the advert. It's so much better than what the ads make it out to be.
I want everyone on Deviantart to see this film in order for them to notice that life could be worse, so stop whining and watch this film.
